Hi, I'm Jenn!
Here's a Little Bit of My Story
Wife. Mother. Daughter. Sister. Friend. Writer. Editor.
Striving to empower you one word at a time.
Some facts about me: I’m a 200-hour certified yoga teacher, a two-time published co-author for “Empowered in Heels” and “Self-Love Elevated,” and a woman who has shared openly about her struggles with mental health for the past 10 years. I was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, where I also met my husband and got married. We started our family – a son, a daughter, and a rescue pup named Seth – and settled into a home just east of Toronto in a town called Ajax, where we lived for 13 years before taking a leap of faith and moving to Calgary, Alberta in July 2022.
I have been a writer and editor for many years, having previously worked in journalism, communications, copywriting, blogging, and social media before starting my journey as an entrepreneur. Writing and storytelling have been deeply rooted in me since childhood. Growing up, I used to love creating stories, writing poetry, and personal essays. I’ve always felt that I could best express myself through written words, which is also why I took every English and writing class that I could when I was in high school, why I went to college for journalism, and why I’ve had many notebooks and journals over the years!
My love for editing began when I became the editor of my high school paper. I enjoyed seeing the big picture of putting out each issue and watching it all come together. This is how I still approach editing projects today: I think about what the desired result is and I work through the copy to achieve it. I don’t look at another writer’s words and try to make them my own, but rather look at how I can enhance their writing and stay true to their style and tone.
When I’m not working on a writing or editing project, you will likely find me spending time with my family, watching a good comedy or suspenseful drama on TV with my husband, or reading an intriguing mystery novel.
